Moldova Mission Project

Moldova is the poorest country in Europe.  The average family lives on 6,000 Moldovan Leu per month--about $325.  Many of the poorest people live on just 1,200 Leu per month--about $65.

Most of the homes are heated with just a single wood-burning stove during the extremely harsh winters. However with such limited incomes, poor families cannot afford to buy firewood to heat their homes.  

For the last several years, Aviano Baptist Church has been raising money to purchase the firewood needed by poor families in the Crihana Veche village.  At least 95% of the funds donated go directly to firewood purchase.  The other 5% cover the cost of cutting and delivering the wood to the families.  

Foster Home Ministry
Many parents are in poor health or they have left Moldova in search of work so the number of children left orphaned is ever increasing.  To help, in 2018 the Crihana Veche Baptist Church constructed a foster home behind their church building.  This home has the capacity for 14 children plus the two adults who live there full time to provide care.  The cost of running this home is 500 Euro per month.   One hundred percent of the funds donated to this project go directly to the expenses of the Foster Home. 

You can make a difference...

Adopt A Family 
One simple way you can make a significant difference is through the Adopt-A-Family program.  With a monthly donation of just $35 a month, you can provide enough firewood for a family to get through the year.  This will also enable the local church to provide some basic food items for these families.  When you agree to partner with us on this important project, you'll receive information about the family you've "adopted."  Then you and your family can regularly pray for your adopted family in Moldova.

Lump Sum Donation
You can also give a one-time, lump sum donation to the work.  Many people have given this way and have made a tremendous impact.

Foster Home Support
We are praying for a church or several individuals who would serve as financial sponsors for the Foster Home ministry.  Sponsors of the home will receive periodic updates on the work and the children who are living there.  

More than just warmth and food, your gift has the potential to have an eternal impact.  Over the years, this ministry opened doors for the gospel to be shared and as a result, several hundred people have given their lives to Christ.   Jesus said, "What you did for the least of these, you did for Me" (Matt 25:40). 

Giving is easy...

 Giving can be done electronically and is tax deductible in the US (check individual tax laws if you are a donor outside the US).

There are several ways to give.
1.  Adopt-A-Family.  Simply check the Adopt-A-Family box and fill out the rest of the giving form.  Then follow the instructions to set up your $35 monthly donation through your bank.  

2.  One-time, lump sum.  If you'd prefer to give a lump sum donation rather than adopting a specific family, just check the "Lump Sum Donation" box on the giving form and indicate the amount of  your donation and follow the instructions at the bottom of the form to send the donation from your bank.  Be sure to include "Aviano Moldova Firewood" on your payment so it is processed correctly.   

3.  Foster Home Support.  Check the Foster Home Support box on the donor form, indicate the amount of support you can provide in the Comments Box, and follow the bank instructions.  Again, be sure to indicate "Aviano Moldova Foster Home" on your payment.
