Discipleship is a biblical practice in which a believer who is stronger in the faith takes on the task of helping young believers grow in their walk in Christ. We see Paul who undertook Timothy under his spiritual care or older women in Titus 2:4-8 that were encouraged to train the younger women. Christian life is full of hardships but by God's grace He has blessed us with believers who walk this journey with us, pray for us and encourage us. If you have recently been saved or you have been a christian for a while but think you never had a mentor to help you walk through the basics of Christian faith then discipleship is for you.
What to expect from Aviano Baptist discipleship? When you get in touch with our discipleship coordinator he will connect you with a member of Aviano Baptist church who has been through discipleship before and is seen as a strong believer. The person who has been chosen to be your discipleship leader will contact you and you both will agree on the schedule and time for the next 13 weeks (if meeting once a week). Note that men will be discipled by men and women will be discipled by women.
For discipleship we are using the Navigator's "Growing in Christ is a 13-week course for new and growing Christians". You will receive the book upon your first discipleship meeting.
Contact Tyler Harris our discipleship coordinator if you have questions or are interested in getting started.
